Hina dolls
|
|
|
There was a Hina doll display at Tokyo station this week. These dolls are set out on March 3 for celebrating girl's day. The dolls are quite expensive - often handcrafted. Usually the grandparents buy them - original dolls cost thousands of dollars each. Most people just have a good emperor and empress. There are tiers of other dolls as well, all representing the royal retinue.

My new camera with 12X optical zoom!

I bought a new Panasonic FZ20. The next few entries will be me playing around with my camera. This is just a zoom demonstration. There is probably 20 meters between me and the stairs in these photos. The strange thing on the right side of the first two pics is the reflection off of a marble slab that I am standing next to. For some reason I missed the 4X zoom... probably because I can't count
