I have every intention of updating my photos but then get bogged down in work. Yuck! Last week I was out of town on a seminar, and this week looks like it will be one of those horrid 90 hour deals. So hopefully photos will be added... next week? That's the plan anyway. I hope to get some new pics up this weekend. Thanks to everyone who keeps checking in despite the fact that I have totally slacked off since the beginning of the year.

The department store had "Kyushu Fair" today... basically highlighting food from the Kyushu (bottom island of Japan) area. Lots of free samples!

This is from my first (and only) attempt at snowboarding. Lots of fun, but I could only stand up when I was facing up the hill! The mountain is in the Nagano area.

Millenium 2 (old pics)

Collection of photos here - Japanese people go to shrine at New Years. Meiji Jingu is the busiest... it gets millions (yes with an 's') of visitors in the first few days of January. Other Japanese traditions are watching the sunrise and going to hear the Emporer's message.

My latest project is to scan all of my hard copy photos into digital format. These pics are from millenium. The street cleaning volunteers really were out at quarter after midnight... after everyone shouted "Happy New Year" they all just disappeared!
